    every time the guy …
every time the guy speaks it costs me a hundred billion or so..
So stay off my TV & stop Helping us..
    You’re killing us…

    Yes, Pinnertop… …
Yes, Pinnertop…one day Americans will have the same rights that Europeans have now…but it will probably take violence to achieve those rights.

  3. Knightmessenger

    Yeah, health care …
Yeah, health care is a billion dollar industry. What’s your point? Isn’t the movie industry also a billion dollar industry too? All their films make millions today and yet ticket prices and dvd prices are high. Why doesn’t anyone complain about them being greedy and ripping people off?
And you might be thinking that movies don’t provide something essential to living while health care does but that’s not my point.

  4. Knightmessenger

    Wait, why do you …
Wait, why do you say health care is a right in just the “civilized” countries?
If something is a right, then everybody is entitled to it regardless of the time, place, wealth or level of technology.

You can’t have a “right” to something that infringes on other people’s freedom. Do you really feel it’s all right to force a doctor to give you medical care without compensating him/her?

    It’s not the …
It’s not the goverments job to take care of you but it is a society’s ethical obligation to provide decent health care to sick fellow citizens. We in the Netherlands have a mixed public/private system which works very well. There is a big deal of goverment involvement but then I think the difference between Europe and the US is that in Europe the goverment fears the people and in the US the people fear the goverment….

  6. Pinnertop

    One day American …
One day American will get to where Europe is now. Our National Health Service is not perfect, but what is? We Brits would fight with all our collective strength to preserve it. I am a beneficiary of it, having spent 3 months in hospital with blood poisoning when I was young. My parents had to pay not one penny. It is also exceptionally good value – we pay one third of what Americans do and our health care is UNIVERSAL. Emergency treatment is free to anybody, including foreigners.

  7. diezungen

    Health care is a …
Health care is a RIGHT in all civilized countries.

Of all industrialized countries. only in backwards Amerikkka are citizens denied that basic human right.

  8. 1crazyalex

    health care more …
health care more important than bloody WAR

  9. OtantalizingO

    food, a right, its …
food, a right, its not in your country, Monsanto have made serfs out of the US farmer with a patent ring that binds them all, they are not allowed to save seeds anymore,, is that freedom?

If your crop gets “infected” by their pollen,
(form another farmer with GMO crop) they can sue you for patent infringement. and they do to get you under their thumb.

Check out “the world according to monsanto”
    here on youtube

    Free market, you …
Free market, you fell for that one? sure your welcome to build a company and even prove it works, then big business comes in and under or over cut you until your gone, to whom will you complain? no one, you wanted a free market you got it,,that’s free market, only one that profit from it is big business.
Bankers get finders fees if they have a good idea,, and low and behold here you come and have to tell him your business model to prove you will be solvent,, hahahahahahahaha chiching!!

    First of all I …
First of all I think you are the one that needs to do some research. Secondly,What makes you think it is the goverments job to take care of you? Do you even know whay medical prices cost so much? Do you even know what a right is?

  12. nero8289

    Thank, you. I am …
Thank, you. I am glad I am not the only one who understands this.

  13. mediawasteland

    Are you a real …
Are you a real person, or an idiot? Cause i guarantee you your one or the other. Possibly someone from the health insurance industry? The health Industry is a billion dollar revenue industry. You going to tell me someone making that much money off of people is more functional than a non profit government program. I decided it is a waste of my time to explain anything. Stop getting your information from slanted corporate media and do a little research. Then complain.

  14. men61413

    What a bizarre …
What a bizarre notion that health insurance is a right. Why isn’t food a right? Or clothing or shelter? None of those are guaranteed.
Only free markets can efficiently allocate scare resources and healthcare is one of them.
First, health care has a cost. I want to ration my own care. I don’t want someone else (employer or governement) decidng what health care I can have.
Second, I don’t want to burden other people with my health care expenses. Especially my own children (and their children).

  15. rrsrichard

    First we have to …
First we have to recognize that health Ins. is a right not a privilege. I believe the most efficient and least expensive way for society to buy health insurance is to have the community purchase it in a competitive environment. Competition assures high quality service at low prices. The Community assures stability and security for this important need since it is the lowest stable-buying unit. It also offers prudence and frugality to the purchasing decision since it is very a conservative buyer.

  16. megaminxmaster

    that’s true, and …
that’s true, and only fools deny that. however, the only way for the healthcare industry to succeed is to keep it private. that’s what i believe. it has to be done right though.

  17. rrsrichard

    In our society, …
In our society, there exists a very unfair situation. There are many groups of employees who have no coverage at all. They’re found working very hard in diners, restaurants, manufacturing shops, retail stores. I know that these people work hard for their money. They often work long hours at low wages. Should they own a home and should a family member contract a serious illness, the regrettable fact is that they could lose all their property to medical expenses. Is this what society endorses?

  18. rrsrichard

    mega, I think you …
mega, I think you meant moron, but having said that, the government led by the GOP for the last 8 years less the last 2 have not open the market across state lines. They are pocketing big money from the Insurance Lobbyist’s. Therefore, Insurance Companies have monopolized each state. I think leftists don’t fail to see the failed politics of the last 8 years. I say open it up as well and let’s get changing the system, it’s really broke. Health should not be a profit making business.

  19. Joewillsetitright

    There is a medical …
There is a medical breakthrough. Eat only raw uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains.

  20. TylerLombardi

    Charity should be a …
Charity should be a NON-profit enterprise. Capitalism is where survival of the fittest is proven in the work place. Technology improves in a free market of ideas where improvement is rewarded. The United states currently produces many of he worlds medical breakthroughs. I’ll take my medical breakthroughs in a Darwinian economy. And please, before bragging of your Mensa status, do a grammar and spell check.

  21. REGreenTeam

    Agian, Healthcare …
Agian, Healthcare should not be a for profit captialist enterprise. No, it should be a none profit center with government regualated wages. Don’t like the wage move to another country. this is what all other capitalistic businesses tell their employees ! ! ! Oh yea, I have been a member of mensa for over 50 years with an IQ of 163.

  22. megaminxmaster

    wow, you are a …
wow, you are a moran. costs are high because the government has made competition illegal and therefore insurance companies only have to compete in there own state. if this law were to be terminated, the entire country would be open for competition, and anyone who would want to stay in business would HAVE to lower their costs. this is something that you pathetic leftists fail to see.

  23. REGreenTeam

    I repeat !!! – …
I repeat !!! – Capitalism has no moral place in healthcare.

  24. latewire

    Dear moron: The …
Dear moron: The health insurance industry rarely gets more than 4% profit per quarter. They lose money 1/4 of the time. The one of the highest ever years was 7% profit by cigna in 2006. This information is publicly available. You can check yourself (though you probably wont).

Health insurance costs a lot, but they SPEND IT ALL.

If you have a problem with inefficient health insurance, simply allow them to compete over state lines.

  25. Engineer245

    I completely …
I completely understand what what supply and demand economics are. However, there is very little pure supply and demand economics in the world and the USA has little to none of it. So, I will restate it “Healthcare should never never never be a for profit capitaistic enterprise ! ! !
